England legend David Beckham is still getting invitations to play football as he nears his 50th birthday, and those invitations come from fellow professionals who are still playing.
Beckham currently plays a key role in the footballing world as one of the owners of Major League Soccer (MLS) powerhouse Inter Miami.
However, that doesn’t mean his own players, including Lionel Messi, don’t try to get him to come down to training with them.
The former Manchester United star told Men’s Health: “They keep inviting me: Leo (Messi), Luis (Suarez), Jordi (Alba), Sergio (Busquets). They’ll turn to me and say, ‘Come on, come on, let’s train with us.'”
However, Beckham has politely declined the invitations, allowing head coach Javier Mascherano to prepare his team undisturbed.
He also told the magazine that his body may not yet cope with training the same way.
“Funny story, I was out kicking a ball the other day for Adidas, shooting a commercial for my new Predator boots “I tried a free-kick, a long pass and I was so excited,” Beckham เล่นบาคาร่า UFABET เว็บตรง ค่าคอมสูง recalled.
“I shouldn’t say it but I grew up in an era where we didn’t have to warm up or stretch as much. It was normal for me to walk to the halfway line, pick up the ball and kick it in or hit the bar. “
Now when I take the fifth, sixth, seventh… eighth one, I kick it as hard as I can and all of a sudden I’m thinking, ‘Oh my gosh, my hamstrings. ’ When the guy filming me asked if I wanted to take two or three more, I said, ‘No, I think we got the shot. ’”
